Larry Karol - News & Reviews |
November 2007 Luncheon Series-NH Jewish Federation
|
The New Hampshire Jewish Reporter January-February 2008
November Luncheon Series By Merle Carrus Every time I get in the car, I pop in a CD of Debbie Friedman, Craig Taubman or Sam Glaser to listen to. I watch the newspapers to see when my favorite performers will be appearing locally. But now I have found hidden talent right here in Dover, New Hampshire. Last month while eating another delicious lunch prepared by Heidi Miller at the Jewish Federation of NH, we listened as Rabbi Larry Karol entertained us. Rabbi Karol, of Temple Israel in Dover, sang his own original melodies and played the guitar. He was accompanied on piano for a few songs by our shlicha, Carmel Harel. "I sing to express my Jewish soul," says Karol. Rabbi Karol came here from Topeka, Kansas, last year with his wife Rhonda. He has participated in workshops with Debbie Friedman, Craig Taubman and Jeff Klepper. One day Larry Karol will be listed in concert just like these other great Jewish performers. He has two CDs available for purchase.
