Elaine Serling
Elaine's music is packed with beautiful messages, innovative lyrics and refreshing musical arrangements. Her songs have captured the pulse and essence of the Jewish spirit. Through high spirited vocals and memorable melodies, Jewish values are rekindled and revisited as she weaves the "old and the new" together.

Singer, songwriter, performer and Jewish music educator, Elaine has been inspiring children and adult audiences in concerts for over 4 decades. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing (B.S.N.-R.N.) and affectionately became known as the "singing nurse", soothing and cheering up her patients with a song or two while she worked.

Having lived in Israel with her husband, Elaine often performed at Kibbutzim, in Tel Aviv and at Ulpan BenYehuda in Netanya. It is in Israel that she began her songwriting career and was inspired to write and spread the joy of traditional and contemporary Jewish music.

As a Jewish music educator her classroom becomes an exciting stage. Teaching nursery school classes through confirmation age classes, she has the ability to speak to each age group with an honest enthusiasm that translates easily. She delights in encouraging children to sing and dance, laugh, listen and think. Performing since an early age, Elaine chose to express herself musically through a Jewish avenue. She encourages students to use their creativity and talents through Jewish themes and has become a mentor to many.

Four time ASCAP AWARD winning singer/songwriter, Elaine has also been honored with a "Jewish Women of the Arts" award for her on-going achievements in Jewish music education and songwriting. For three years in a row, she received "The Children's Music Web Award" and is heard on XM satellite radio's children's station. In Israel, Kol Israel Radio, has featured Elaine's song "It Was a Dream" as part of their diaspora programing. In many nursery and Sunday schools and synagogues, in Australia, Canada, Denmark, England, Israel, Japan and Russia her music is internationally recognized. Around the world and in the United States, parents and teachers joyfully utilize and acknowledge Elaine's music as an important and welcomed contribution to Judaism's rich heritage and culture.

Recently, Elaine wrote a song "Bubbie's Baby" and had it illustrated as a beautiful CD-Single/Book. It is dedicated to all grandchildren and grandparents ( "Bubbie's and Zaydee's") everywhere. ‘Yiddiskeit' has always been important and dear to her heart. "Bubbie's Baby" initiates an entertaining, yet meaningful way to revisit the past with a Yiddish point of view. Grandparents can share special and purposeful moments together with their grandchildren through this song and its wonderful illustrations.

Elaine's music is a great collection of refreshing new songs! Her albums "Join the Circle" and "Sing and Celebrate" both create a feeling of Jewish pride. Her music can motivate children and adults to celebrate and take their turn as an important link in Jewish history.

Elaine writes: "Like generations before us, it is now our turn to carry on. I believe we are each a single note in the symphony of life. As we blend our individual notes together, the harmonies compliment and enhance each other's contributions. We all become melodies in motion transcending centuries, borders and boundaries. I am excited to add my notes to those already written and invite you to join me in song".

Elaine lives with her husband, Michael, an attorney, in Orchard Lake, Michigan. They have two daughters. Dana is a Physician Assistant in Chicago; Alizah is married to Adam, and they have two daughters, Alexis and Danielle.
