Orit Perlman
Orit started composing songs when she was five, creating an inefficient note system by writing little lines on paper at different heights. Many songs were lost.

Searching for a better system, she found herself years later in the vocal department at the Music Academy of Tel-Aviv and after that in the course for Israeli cantorial soloists at the Hebrew Union College. She has served as a cantorial soloist and leader of life ceremonies throughout Israel at locations including Hebrew Union College, and currently at "Ohel Avraham" in Haifa.

She has performed and taught at CAJE, Berkeley's Music Sources, and for the ACC and GTM during their last conference in Israel, and held High Holiday positions in the United States. Her repertoire includes traditional cantorial material, melodies in Hebrew, Aramaic, Yiddish, Ladino, as well as her own compositions.

Her album "Tfilotai" was recorded in collaboration with Hebrew Union College Jerusalem, as support for prayer workshops given by Orit to educators. Recorded with magician guitarist and vocalist Boaz Sternberg, deep hearted percussionist Yair Smoilov, choir master Yuval Kanfi on piano and others.

Orit performs solo performance/workshops on Jewish melodies from around the world, workshops for educators on the topic of children's prayer, and performances with Boaz Sternberg and Yair Smoilov.

Orit Perlman currently lives in Haifa on the Carmel with her husband, Yehonadav, 17 year old twins, Ruthie and Hillel, and 12 year old Lily.
