Award-winning singer/songwriter/jewish educator, Cantor Raquel Pomerantz Gershon has been teaching, performing and composing Jewish music for over 30 years. Her CDs of original music, "Jerusalem on My Mind" & "Candlesticks of Silver" have been widely acclaimed. She was a finalist in the first American Zionist Movement songwriting contest for her song "kol yisrael arevim" and had two songs, "geshem" and "eizehu" featured in the 2013 Shalshelet festival for new Jewish liturgical music. Raquel has performed across the USA, and in Israel and Europe and performs with Chicago Sings, a project of Jewish Rock Radio. She is the ritual director of Congregation Beth Shalom in Northbrook, IL. Raquel is the proud mother of 3 magnificent adult children.
