Heeyam
Heeyam is an Indian-Israeli group featuring Shye Ben Tzur, a musician and poet living in India. His journey to the sub-continent began in search of a Music Master. After several years of study of Indian traditions, Shye's yearning for his innate Hebrew language and roots overflowed when he read the prose of a Persian Sufi writer:

"One who does not speak his own language becomes dumb even if he learned one hundred poems".

Shye craved to write his own Hebrew poetry that would meld with the profound melodies inherent in Indian tradition. He studies Bansuri under a classical Hadropad singer Ustad Ziah Farreed Udine Dagar. His close ties to the Indian Sufi music known as Qawwali came about during the years he lived in Ajmer, which is the largest center in the world for the Sufi Chishti sect. His book of poetry Expressions Of A Soul was published in 1999 by Traklin-Gvanim.

His Heeyam album, recorded in India, Israel, and the United States was acclaimed in Israel and around the world. His Heeyam company has appeared around the world, and they have performed in concert in a number of religious Sufi music festivals on stage with artists from Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Kashmir, and more.
