Alisa Pomerantz-Boro
Hazzan Alisa Pomerantz-Boro grew up on Mercer Island, Washington, in a rabbinic home, instilled with a love of Judaism and music. From an early age, she knew she would continue the long family line of rabbis and cantors. She serves proudly as the Hazzan of Congregation Beth El in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

At her investiture as a Hazzan, she was awarded the Jacobson Memorial Prize in Hazzanut.

Hazzan Pomerantz-Boro was among the first 12 women to be inducted into the Cantors Assembly, the professional organization of Conservative cantors, where she has served as the co-chair of the Western Region and on the National Executive Council of the Cantors Assembly. She currently serves as an Officer of the Cantors Assembly.

Hazzan Pomerantz-Boro performs in concert throughout the year, in a variety of styles. She has shared the stage with many of the best in Jewish music today including Rick Recht and Debbie Friedman, not to mention her cantorial colleagues, Hazzanim David Propis, Abe Mizrahi, Steve Stoehr, Jackie Mendelson and many more.

She has performed for Women's League, Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs, United Synagogue, Jewish Educators Assembly and congregations around the country.

Hazzan Pomerantz-Boro lives in Voorhees with her husband Stephen and their children, Rebecca and Joshua.
