HAZZAN HOWARD (HAMID) DARDASHTI
Hazzan Howard (Hamid) Dardashti was born in Tehran, Iran to a family who has been singing for three generations. He began playing guitar at the age of ten, teaching it privately at seventeen & later at Conservatorion Netanyah in Israel.
With family vocal training since an early age & his ability on the guitar, he soon began entertaining audiences around Israel, individually and with the family, in concert and radio.
He began his Cantorial education In at the Cantors Institute of the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, graduated & has been serving congregations in California, Florida, Illinois & New Jersey.
He has been appearing around the world, on the stage and on the air, singing in fourteen languages and accompanying himself on the guitar, harmonica and Hand drums. His performances display the beauty of Jewish sacred music, arias, popular music and folk songs.
Hazzan Dardashti is the composer/arranger of a complete traditional Friday night service for Hazzan and guitar. In this unique service, the authentic European Jewish music, "Nusakh", and coloratura are combined with new Israeli and other popular, classical, and Flamenco flavors.
Hazzan Dardashti is currently serving Temple Torah, Boynton Beach, FL.
