Mary Feinsinger
Mary Feinsinger (www.maryfeinsinger.com) is conductor/arranger for the "Broadway at the 92 Y" Chorus at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. She has music directed many shows in New York and regional theatres, and recently led a master class on "Musical Theatre since RENT" at Brown University.

She has won many awards for her compositions-including the first Out-of-the-Bachs competition for choral music, the Diana Barnhart American Song competition, and the Shalshelet Competition, and has received composition grants from The Children's Aid Society Chorus and ASCAP. A composer/lyricist in the BMI Lehman Engel Advanced Musical Theatre Workshop, she has composed the music for a number of musicals, including Understood Betsy, Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys Invent Vermont, The Ballad of Rom 'n' Julz, and Hot Klezmer. Her musical GO GREEN! (with Joan Ross Sorkin) will be produced at the first Annual Children's Theater Festival in New York in the spring of 2012.

She is well known as a composer/arranger of Jewish music. She has just published Jewish Wedding Music: Processionals and Recessionals, a collection of instrumental music for the Jewish wedding ceremony (available at www.amazon.com), which is the companion volume to her definitive collection of vocal music, Kol Dodi: Jewish Music for Weddings (Transcontinental Music). For Transcontinental Music Company, she also arranged and produced the recording Songs from a Passover Haggadah, and was an editor and music director for Shirei T'shuvah - Songs of Repentance.

As co-founder, vocalist, and keyboard artist of the West End Klezmorim, she performed at Carnegie Hall, The White House, Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, and St. Peter's Jazz Church. Garrison Keillor on the Prairie Home Companion praised her "unique talent," The New York Times called her "the world's greatest Yiddish scat singer."

Born in New York City, she is a graduate of Barnard College and The Juilliard School. On the board of directors of the American Society for Jewish Music, she serves as cantor for the Rossmoor Jewish Congregation near Princeton. A member of NATS and NYSTA, ASCAP, the Dramatists Guild, and the Guild of Temple Musicians, she maintains an active private studio in New York for vocal instruction, vocal coaching, theory, and piano.
