Janice Rubin
Janice Rubin is a liturgical artist, serving as a davening leader, Jewish educator, hospice volunteer, facilitator of ritual in Jewish and secular settings, and performer of Yiddish and international folk music. She currently works part-time as a hospital chaplain at Baylor St. Luke's Hospital in Houston. She is a graduate of Kol Zimra, chant leaders' training, and facilitates a regular meditation and chanting group in Houston. She is committed to using music as a tool for creating a personal connection with the Divine.
She is also a well-known professional photographer whose work has been published and exhibited worldwide since 1976. Her exhibit and book, The Mikvah Project, an exploration of an ancient and secret ritual, has toured museums in 32 cities in the U.S. and Europe since 2001. For five years, she served on the national Board of ALEPH, stepping down in the summer of 2016 in order to turn her attention to Hashpa'ah - training as a spiritual director.
