The Minor Prophets
The Minor Prophets were born around January 25, 2004. It was a week before Rabbi Joe Black was coming to the 'nati when Joel and Micah said, "Let's Rock!" Although Joel and Micah's solo show at the Procter and Gamble Chanukah party was nice, they knew that in order to truly be The Minor Prophets, they needed more. Mike and Scott joined the band, after changing their names to Habakuk and Obadiah of course, and the band played together for the first time. After the first show the band was given room 413 in the new dorm of HUC. That room would become home to not only the drum set, but to a new voice in Jewish rock that is shaking the Midwest.

The band's first year included Purim at Golf Manor Synagogue, and opening for Rabbi Joe Black and Rick Recht, as well as the birth of a major prophet.

The second year of "prophecy" brought The Minor Prophets a new Micah as well as shows at Earlham College and Indiana University. They also entered the world of "Rock Shabbat" with Friday night services at two Cincinnati synagogues. The Minor Prophets released their first album, "Koh Amar" on April 3, 2005, and they can't wait to return to the studio.

Year number 3 saw Scott and Mike go off to Israel and the addition of Steven on drums. Who knows what the future holds? (I know, as minor prophets we should, but we don't)
