Mike Boxer
Michael Harris Boxer grew up in a conservative Jewish family in Spring Valley, New York, just outside of that booming Judaic metropolis known as Monsey. He taught himself to play the piano at the age of 3, and the guitar, bass and drums would follow several years later after realizing the gift of perfect pitch. He learned the cello and alto sax from some highly supportive and unique music teachers from whom he drew much inspiration throughout and beyond his school years. It was at Binghamton University where Mike's love for Jewish music grew and a desire to make music his life finally manifested itself.

As musical director of Kaskeset Jewish a cappella, Mike was executive producer of the group's three CDs and rise to notoriety as one of the premiere Jewish a cappella groups in the nation. This helped lead to work as a recording engineer at Open Studios in Vestal, NY, where he had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects. Later, he would become a part of the Binghamton Crosbys and experience not only the thrill of winning the national championship of collegiate a cappella and producing an award-winning album, but the fulfillment of true brotherhood through music. He graduated Binghamton with degrees in music and business management.

Today, under the umbrella of his own company, Halfway Coherent Productions, he provides compositions, arrangements, programming, direction, production, recording and both live and session performance for artists and entities of all walks, specializing in a cappella and Jewish music. At only 26, a list of his live performances numbers in the hundreds, he has performed on 18 albums (Erev Chaim is his long-awaited debut as a solo artist) and has been a part of twice as many, having had the privilege of being hired by a long list of names in the Jewish music world.

Currently, when he's not contributing to the survival and flourish of Jewish music on the "serious" side as Administrative Director at Transcontinental Music, the world's largest Jewish music publisher, he performs as a member of Six13, at private functions and in support of other performing artists. These days, his a large part of his contributions take place behind the scenes, where he helps bring studio recordings to their full potential and beyond. Mike hopes this is just the beginning of a lifetime of as much involvement with music and the arts as possible.

Mike Boxer works as an arranger, composer, consultant, educator, musical director, producer, recording engineer, session musician, booking agent, business manager, vocalist and vocal coach, has extensive experience in each of these areas and is available for hire.
