Blake Singer, the Cantorial Soloist at Temple Kol Emeth in Marietta, GA since 1983, won the United Synagogue Youth national song contest at the age of 17 for his first song "Follow His Ways", and has been writing Jewish music ever since.
Blake’s musical focus since this time has been to write songs about lifecycle events found in Jewish life. His songs for praising god, the bestowing of a baby’s Jewish name, celebration of the Bar and Bat Mitzvah, and the passing Judaism from one generation to the next, are frequently heard during Friday and Saturday worship services.
Blake has performed his music to audiences both in the U.S. and abroad, where he has helped to raise funds to rebuild the Jewish community in Vilnius, Lithuania. Blake has been fortunate to perform alongside a number of prominent Jewish musicians such as Peter Yarrow and Debbie Friedman.
Blake's first CD, The Journey, is a collection of songs chronicling the numerous celebrations we are blessed with and the heartbreaking reminder that life is fragile.
Blake’s most recent CD “Keep the Change”, is a collection of upbeat songs of praise and gratitude.
A set of new melodies for liturgical prayers encountered in the worship service are included in each of his CDs.
Blake has been married to his wife Cindy for 42 years and has two wonderful sons and a daughter.
